THE NATURE
Genuine curiosity for humanity and the nature world, especially for the love of color
As a child, I spent endless hours staring at piles of fruit and flowers in a small shop next to my neighborhood, impressed by how deliciously colorful and marvelously unique they looked. I dreamed of spending the rest of my days looking at them, seeking to riddle out why they had their certain features and looks. Sincere interest in life forms, humanity and nature, and having fun to unveil the truth drive my actions. Otherwise, I would spend most of my time solving puzzles, crafting paper doll houses, painting dolls or simply going out to discover some hidden treasures in a forest.
THE BACKGROUND
Rich diverse and international background: USA, Asia, Europe
Growing up in South Korea and USA and being educated in Design and Business in Belgium, London, and NYC- I have naturally placed myself in a unique position with a deep and diverse perspective. This experience broadens my mind and leads me toward creating solutions for a global perspective. By empathizing with people from different backgrounds, cultures, and philosophies and I learned how to work together with them. This leads me to be great at discovering people’s best abilities and collaborating together for the best synergy.
THE EXPERIENCE
Balance between the left brain and the right brain
I studied design and business. I worked as a designer and a strategist. I’m admired and inspired by beautiful things, but I beauty is meaningless without utility. I’ve had the privilege of exploring global business strategies and design practices in some of the world’s most dynamic cities. This foundation deeply embedded in me the need to work towards the optimal balance of analytical and beautiful solutions. If the design doesn’t help solve people’s problem, it’s a failure by default. However, if the design solves people’s problem but without aesthetics, how boring that would be! Life is much more than merely solving problems, it’s more to create unique individual stories with the solution. I believe that good design should always be backed by data and provoke people’s emotions.
THE TEAM PLAYER
Part of something bigger
I’ve always been a team player, and this trait has empowered me to create something bigger and more valuable than I could ever create by myself. This is a true excitement and celebration for me. I also deeply understood how important it is to be an effective communicator and a lifetime learner to hone my skills. With a deep understanding of the people’s perspectives and a unique content strategy and marketing background in the digital space, I love incorporating all the strengths I’m learning in UX design to create compelling and one-of-a-kind experiences with talented teams.
